Dr. Hanh Do
Veterinarian
About Dr. Do
Dr. Hanh Do graduated with high honors from UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Do focuses on the care of small companion animals. She prides herself on having an in-depth knowledge base on a broad range of veterinary topics and has special interests in internal medicine, urgent care, and surgery. Dr. Do is a warm, honest, and patient doctor who exudes love and care for all animals. She works hard to answer all your questions and provide the best care for you and your loved ones.
Dr. Do has a shepherd mix named Taja, a kitty named Jewel, a little parrot named Rainy, and five chickens named Astrid, Darla, Candice, Wynonna, and Beatrice. Dr. Do looks forward to providing you and your pet with the best in veterinary medicine from the heart.
Dr. Sam Varon
Veterinarian
About Dr. Varon
Dr. Sam Varon graduated from the University of California, Davis with a degree in Animal Science and the distinction of highest honors. He went on to earn his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from the UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine, where he focused on companion animal medicine. His professional interests include surgery, reproduction, oncology, and end-of-life care.
Dr. Varon is skilled in soft palate and nares resection, screw tail surgery, various eye surgeries, and other procedures that help short-faced breeds breathe and live more comfortably. He also has an interest in advanced orthopedic surgeries, including TPLOs and fracture repair.
His love for animals shows through his commitment to the Sacramento animal community and beyond. He has volunteered with Mercer Clinic for the Homeless, which provides free veterinary care for the pets of people experiencing homelessness. He has also volunteered in Central and South America, performing surgeries for cats and dogs in underserved communities.
When he is not caring for Sacramento’s pets, Dr. Varon can often be found spending time with his rescue dogs, Autumn, Ziggy, Piper, and Meka, along with his miniature pig, Gracie. He is also a big fan of fitness and enjoys snowboarding, fishing, and spending time outdoors.
Dr. Tyler Baum
Veterinarian
About Dr. Baum
Dr. Tyler Baum is a two-time graduate of the University of California, Davis. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Animal Science with a minor in Psychology, followed by his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine. He has special interests in avian and exotic animal medicine.
While Dr. Baum enjoys seeing cats and dogs, his greatest passion is caring for pets that are a bit smaller or more unique. Some of his favorite patients include guinea pigs, rabbits, hamsters, exotic birds, reptiles, and even the occasional chicken.
Working with animals has always been one of Dr. Baum’s greatest passions. He has carried that love for animals into volunteer work abroad, supporting communities in need and participating in wildlife conservation efforts in several countries, including Nicaragua and South Africa.
When he is not caring for Stockton’s animals, Dr. Baum can often be found at home with his wife, Andrea, and their three cats, Toast, Butters, and Dr. Professor Stripey Pants. He also enjoys wine tasting throughout Northern California, hiking, exploring nature, and working on his photography, some of which can be seen throughout the hospital.
Dr. Pietro Catini
Associate Veterinarian
About Dr. Catini
Dr. Pietro Catini completed his undergraduate studies at the University of California, Davis, where he earned his Bachelor of Science in Animal Science with an emphasis in livestock and dairy. He then earned his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Western University of Health Sciences in Pomona, CA.
After veterinary school, Dr. Catini spent several years in California’s Central Valley practicing dairy medicine. During that time, he continued serving his community by providing mobile small animal services and participating in local SPCA spay and neuter clinics before making his way back to the Greater Sacramento area.
Dr. Catini enjoys working with most creatures big and small. His professional interests include soft tissue surgery and small animal dentistry.
When he is not in the hospital, Dr. Catini can often be found exploring the surrounding wine regions, hiking local trails, or spending time at home with his cats, Black Bean and Avocado.
